Your First Day

What to Expect on Intake Day

Walking through our doors for the first time can feel overwhelming. That is why our Program Coordinators Ron and Cameron are here to make your arrival feel warm, personal, and judgment-free. Here is what your first day looks like:

Meet & Greet Ron or Cameron welcomes you personally -- no clipboard-first introductions. We treat you as a person first, and get to know you before any paperwork begins.
Facility Tour & Orientation Walk through our treatment spaces, group rooms, and common areas. Learn how the daily schedule works and what resources are available to you.
Intake Paperwork Complete consent forms, rights and responsibilities documentation, and a urine drug screening. Our team walks you through everything step by step.
Biopsychosocial Assessment A one-on-one session with your therapist or case manager (~1 hour) to understand your history, needs, strengths, and goals. This shapes your individualized treatment plan.
Level of Care Determination Based on your assessment, the clinical team determines the best starting point: Partial Care, IOP5, or IOP3 -- and your start date is confirmed.

Valley Spring offers a full continuum of outpatient care: Partial Care/PHP (Mon-Sat, 9 AM - 3 PM), IOP5 (Mon-Fri, 6-9 PM), IOP3 (3 days/week, 6-9 PM), Virtual IOP, Outpatient, and our Alumni Program.
