The Door Is
Already Open

No waiting lists. No red tape. Just a phone call, a conversation, and a clear path from where you are to where you want to be. Most people begin treatment within 24 hours.

See How It Works
Chapter One

You Don't Need to Have It All Figured Out

Most people who call us don't have a plan. They have a moment — a moment of clarity, a moment of desperation, a moment where they finally say enough. That moment is enough. You don't need a referral. You don't need to know the right words. You just need to pick up the phone.

"The hardest part isn't treatment. It's the thirty seconds before you dial the number. Everything after that, we handle together."

At Valley Spring Recovery Center, our admissions process was designed to eliminate every barrier between you and the help you need. We've stripped away the bureaucracy, the wait times, and the confusion. What's left is a five-step path that gets you from that first phone call to your first day of treatment — typically within 24 hours.

Located at 830 Broadway, Norwood, NJ 07648 — just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge — we're ready when you are. Call (201) 781-8812 anytime, day or night.

Chapter Two

Five Steps. One Clear Path.

Every journey through our admissions process follows the same trail. Each step is designed to move you forward quickly, compassionately, and without unnecessary obstacles. Here's exactly what to expect.

1

Call Our Admissions Line

Available 24/7

Pick up the phone and call (201) 781-8812. You'll speak with a real person — not a voicemail tree, not a chatbot. Tell us what you're going through in whatever words feel right. There's no script. There's no wrong time. We're here around the clock because we know that the moment someone is ready for help, every minute matters.

2

Pre-Assessment & Insurance Verification

Same call or callback

Our admissions team conducts a brief clinical pre-assessment to understand your situation and determine if Valley Spring is the right fit. At the same time, we verify your insurance coverage with one of our 16 accepted providers. We handle all the paperwork — you don't need to call your insurance company or navigate benefits language. That's our job.

3

Clinical & Medical Approval

Typically within 1 hour

Your pre-assessment is reviewed by our Clinical Director, Henry Iwuala, and our medical team. They evaluate clinical appropriateness, review any medical records from referral sources, and confirm the right level of care — whether that's Partial Care, IOP, or our Virtual program. This step typically takes about an hour. We move fast because we've seen what happens when people have to wait.

4

Schedule Your Intake

Within 24 hours

Once approved, our admissions team calls you back to schedule your intake appointment — typically within 24 hours of your initial call. Your Program Coordinator will walk you through exactly what to expect on your first day: what to bring, where to park, who you'll meet. No pressure. No surprises. Just clarity and care. Transportation can also be accommodated if needed.

5

Begin Treatment

Same day or next day

You arrive at 830 Broadway, Norwood, NJ 07648, just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. Walk through the door. Sit down. Begin the next chapter of your life. Most patients start treatment the same day or the very next day. Some admissions can even be completed virtually. From here, everything moves forward.

Chapter Three

What Happens on Your First Day

Your intake day is designed to feel human — not clinical. We know walking through that door for the first time takes courage, and our team treats that moment with the respect it deserves. Here's exactly what your first visit looks like.

Meet & Greet

Program Coordinators Ron Lopez or Cameron Kennedy meet you at the door. They're not behind a desk — they're right there to shake your hand, learn your name, and make you feel welcome. You're treated as a person first, not a patient number.

Facility Tour

You'll walk through our treatment spaces, group rooms, and common areas. We want you to see exactly where you'll spend your time — no mysteries, no surprises. Our Norwood facility is a discrete, private standalone building with its own parking lot.

Orientation & Consent

Your coordinator walks you through program expectations, rights and responsibilities, and consent forms. We explain everything in plain language — the structure, the schedule, what's expected, and what you can expect from us. Questions are welcomed, always.

Urine Screening

A standard urine drug screening is conducted as part of your intake. This isn't punitive — it's clinical. It helps our medical team understand your current situation and make informed decisions about your treatment plan, including whether MAT medication is appropriate.

Biopsychosocial Assessment

This is the heart of your intake — approximately one hour with a licensed therapist or case manager. They'll ask about your history, your current struggles, your goals, and what matters most to you. This comprehensive assessment covers biological, psychological, and social factors, and directly informs your individualized treatment plan. Based on this assessment, your clinical team determines the appropriate level of care: Partial Care (PHP), IOP 5-Day, or IOP 3-Day. Your start date is scheduled before you leave.

What to Bring

Pack light — you're not moving in. Here's what's helpful to have on your first day.

Photo ID (driver's license or state ID)
Insurance card (front and back)
List of current medications
Any discharge paperwork from prior treatment
Emergency contact information
Comfortable clothes (for wellness activities)

Questions Along the Path

The questions below are the ones we hear most from people considering treatment. If yours isn't here, call us at (201) 781-8812 — we'll answer it personally.

No referral is necessary. You can call us directly at (201) 781-8812 to begin the admissions process. Our clinical team will work with you to determine the appropriate level of care based on a comprehensive assessment. If you do have a referring provider, we're happy to coordinate with them.
Most patients begin treatment the same day or the next day after completing the admissions process. Clinical and medical approval typically happens within one hour of your pre-assessment, and intake is usually scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day admissions are available when clinically appropriate.
Partial Care (PHP) is our highest level of outpatient care, running Monday through Saturday, 9AM to 3PM. It's ideal for individuals stepping down from inpatient treatment who need intensive stabilization. IOP runs in the evenings (6-9PM) either 5 or 3 days per week, allowing you to maintain work, school, or family responsibilities while receiving treatment. Most patients start with Partial Care and step down to IOP as they progress.
We accept 16 major insurance providers including Horizon, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Amerihealth, Oscar, Meritain, Fidelis, NYSHIP, UMR, Tricare, Compsych, Highmark, and Magellan. Our admissions team verifies your benefits quickly and handles all the paperwork for you — you won't need to call your insurance company.
Yes, some admissions can be completed virtually. The phone pre-assessment and insurance verification are always done remotely. For patients enrolling in our Virtual IOP program, much of the intake process can be completed from home. For in-person programs, the biopsychosocial assessment and orientation are conducted at our Norwood facility.
Transportation can be accommodated for patients who need it. Our facility at 830 Broadway, Norwood is conveniently located near the Palisades Parkway, Garden State Parkway, and NY Thruway — just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We also have private parking available at our standalone building.
That's exactly what our clinical team is here for. During your biopsychosocial assessment, a licensed therapist evaluates your situation and determines the most appropriate level of care. You don't need to self-diagnose or pre-select a program. Our Clinical Director reviews every case individually, and your treatment plan is built around your specific needs — not a one-size-fits-all template.
Absolutely. Family members are welcome to call on behalf of a loved one, attend the intake visit for support, and participate in treatment through our family therapy sessions and the Together We Heal workshop — a 6-session family program open to everyone, not just Valley Spring patients. Recovery is a team effort, and we encourage family involvement from day one.
The Next Chapter Begins Now
