We didn't build a treatment center. We built a place where people rediscover who they were always meant to become. CARF-accredited. #1 in New Jersey. A team of 19 who chose this work as a calling.
Read Our StoryValley Spring Recovery Center wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from a simple, uncomfortable truth: too many people in Bergen County and the surrounding Tri-State area were falling through the cracks of a treatment system that wasn't designed for them. Programs that treated symptoms instead of people. Facilities that shuffled patients through protocols instead of building real relationships. Insurance paperwork that became its own barrier to care.
We set out to do something different. At 830 Broadway in Norwood, New Jersey — just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge — we built a treatment center that feels less like a clinical institution and more like a place where honest, difficult, life-changing work happens between real human beings.
Under the clinical leadership of Henry Iwuala and the medical direction of Dr. Michael Olla, our team of 19 clinicians, coordinators, and support staff has developed a model of care that meets each person exactly where they are — and walks alongside them toward where they want to be.
We treat substance use disorders and mental health conditions across every level of outpatient care — from Partial Care through IOP, Virtual IOP, and ongoing alumni support. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment, because addiction and mental health don't work that way. Every person who walks through our doors gets a pathway designed specifically for them, guided by clinicians who know their name, their story, and their goals.
Recovery is not a light switch. It's built — carefully, deliberately, one honest conversation at a time. Our four-stage model guides you from stabilization through lasting independence, with each stage building on the last. Advancement is based on measurable progress, not arbitrary timelines.
Partial Care — the foundation. Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 3 PM, you'll work through evidence-based therapies in small, intimate process groups of under 10 people. Daily catered meals, individual therapy sessions, and a structured rhythm designed to rebuild stability in mind, body, and soul. This is where most people begin after inpatient treatment. Explore Partial Care
Intensive Outpatient — the bridge between treatment and real life. Evening sessions from 6 to 9 PM let you keep working, parenting, and living while building recovery skills. Choose 5-day or 3-day tracks based on your needs. Process groups, psychoeducation, life skills, and the real-world integration that makes recovery stick. Explore IOP
Virtual IOP and Outpatient — where confidence outweighs fear. Our fully virtual program is staffed by dedicated remote therapists, case managers, and psychiatric professionals trained specifically in telehealth delivery. Same evidence-based care, same clinical rigor, with the flexibility to heal from wherever you are. Explore Virtual IOP
Alumni Program — family for life. Monthly meetings, speaker series, sober socials, quarterly outings, peer mentorship, and service opportunities. Once you graduate, you're not a former patient — you're part of a community that shows up for each other. Recovery doesn't end when treatment does. Join Alumni
Each stage builds on the last. There are no shortcuts, and there's no shame in the pace. Some people move through quickly. Some take longer. Both paths lead to the same place: a life you're proud to live.
We didn't set out to be different for the sake of being different. We set out to solve the problems that other programs ignore. These are the things that make our approach work.
Small, intimate process groups of under 10 people. Your clinician knows your name, your story, and your progress — not just your file number.
Sleep science (one of 10 sleep specialists in NJ on staff), movement, nervous system regulation, psychoeducation, and medication literacy. Recovery requires biological rehab, not just abstinence.
Community, wellness, stability, relationships, and purpose. We teach people how to actually live after treatment — the gap nobody else fills. Financial literacy, career pathways, housing support.
Our 6-session family workshop is open to anyone — not just Valley Spring patients. Narcan training, boundary setting, codependency education, and relapse prevention for the people who love you.
Not a hybrid add-on. Fully remote therapists, case managers, and psychiatric professionals — all trained specifically in telehealth delivery. Same curriculum, same clinical rigor.
Clinical approval typically within 1 hour. Intake scheduled within 24 hours. When someone is ready for help, timing matters. We move fast because we know every hour counts.
These aren't words on a wall. They're the filter through which every clinical decision, every hire, and every patient interaction passes. When in doubt, we come back to these.
We do the right thing no matter what. In treatment, that means honest clinical recommendations — even when a different answer would be easier or more profitable. We tell patients and families the truth, always.
We work to better our patients' lives — not just during business hours, not just when it's convenient. Our team shows up with energy and purpose every single day because the people we serve deserve nothing less.
We serve each other and our clients with humility and care. No ego, no hierarchy of importance. The person answering the phone matters as much as the clinician leading the group. Every role serves the patient.
We treat everyone with dignity and value every perspective. Addiction doesn't discriminate, and neither do we. Whether you're a CEO or a college student, a first-time caller or a returning alumni member — you matter here.
We work with intention and hold ourselves to a high standard. Every group session is designed with care, every treatment plan reviewed by a multidisciplinary team, and every outcome measured and tracked. Wednesday treatment team meetings ensure the right therapist is matched to every patient.
Collaboration and unity guide our success. When a patient needs something that crosses departmental lines, we don't point fingers — we solve it together. Our dual-licensed staff work across both SUD and mental health tracks, and our case managers coordinate care from housing to insurance to court documents.
