Chapter One

Our Partnership Promise

When you refer a patient to Valley Spring Recovery Center, you're not handing them off — you're handing them forward. We understand that your recommendation carries weight. Your patients trust you, and we take that trust seriously. Every referral is met with the same clinical rigor, urgency, and compassion that you would deliver yourself.

Under the clinical direction of Henry Iwuala and medical oversight from Dr. Michael Olla, our team maintains open communication with referring providers throughout the entire treatment continuum. You'll receive progress updates, discharge summaries, and coordination calls — not silence.

Located at 830 Broadway, Norwood, NJ 07648 — just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge in the heart of Bergen County — we serve patients across northern New Jersey and the greater New York metropolitan area. CARF-accredited and dually licensed for both substance use and mental health treatment.

Chapter Two

The Care Continuum

Our 4-stage progressive model ensures patients aren't discharged into a vacuum. Each level of care builds on the last, with clinical milestones guiding transitions — not arbitrary timelines.

Restore
Partial Care (PHP)
Mon-Sat, 9AM-3PM. Highest structure for patients stepping down from inpatient or in acute crisis. 30 hrs/week of clinical programming.
Activate
IOP (5-Day & 3-Day)
Mon-Fri evenings, 6-9PM. Patients maintain work and family while engaging in 9-15 hrs/week of group and individual therapy.
Accelerate
Virtual IOP / OP
Dedicated virtual program for remote access. Outpatient is step-down only from IOP3 — no direct admission. Continued clinical engagement.
Thrive
Alumni Program
Monthly meetings, bi-monthly community events, peer mentorship, and the Together We Heal 6-session family workshop.
"We don't discharge patients into the wild. We transition them through a continuum that prepares them for independent, sustained recovery."

Chapter Four

What Happens Next

From the moment you submit a referral, here is exactly what your patient can expect. No ambiguity. No runaround. Just a clear, compassionate process built for urgency.

01

Referral Received & Acknowledged

Your referral reaches our admissions team immediately. We acknowledge receipt within the hour during business hours and assign a dedicated admissions coordinator to your patient's case. You'll receive a confirmation with your coordinator's direct line.

02

Pre-Assessment & Insurance Verification

Our team contacts the patient to conduct a brief clinical pre-assessment and simultaneously verifies insurance coverage. We work with 16 major providers including Horizon, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and BCBS. Most verifications complete within 30 minutes.

03

Clinical & Medical Approval

Clinical Director Henry Iwuala and Medical Director Dr. Michael Olla review the assessment and determine the appropriate level of care. Approval is typically granted within one hour. We match patients to the right program — not the most convenient one.

04

Intake Scheduled

Once approved, we schedule intake — typically within 24 hours. The patient's assigned Program Coordinator (Ron Lopez or Cameron Kennedy) walks them through what to expect on day one. Transportation accommodations are available. Some admissions can be completed virtually.

05

Treatment Begins — Provider Updated

Your patient arrives at 830 Broadway, Norwood, NJ and begins treatment — often same-day or next-day. You receive a confirmation that treatment has started, along with a plan for ongoing communication including progress updates and eventual discharge coordination.
