Your First Day

What to Expect on Intake Day

We know walking through the door can feel overwhelming. That's why our team is here to make your first day feel safe, personal, and unhurried. Here's exactly what happens.

Warm Welcome & Meet Your Team

Your Program Coordinator greets you personally. Before any paperwork, we want to get to know you as a person. We treat you like family from the very first moment.

Facility Tour & Orientation

We walk you through our treatment spaces, group rooms, and common areas so you feel comfortable and know exactly where everything is before your first session.

Consent & Intake Paperwork

We walk through consent forms, your rights and responsibilities, and program expectations. Our team is beside you every step — no confusing forms or fine print.

Urine Screening

A standard drug screening helps our clinical team understand where you are physically so they can create the safest, most accurate treatment plan for your needs.

Biopsychosocial Assessment

A therapist spends about one hour getting to know your history, mental health, relationships, and goals. This isn't a test — it's a conversation that shapes your entire treatment plan.

Level of Care Determination

Based on your assessment, we determine the right program for you — Partial Care, IOP 5-Day, or IOP 3-Day. You'll know your schedule and start date before you leave.

Insurance We Accept

We work with 16 major insurance providers. Our admissions team verifies your coverage so you can focus on what matters — getting better.

Common Questions

Admissions FAQ

We know this is a big step. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often from patients and families.

In most cases, same-day or next-day admission is available. After your initial call, our clinical team reviews and approves within one hour. We then call you back within 24 hours to schedule your intake. When you're ready, every moment matters — and we move fast.
Bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of any current medications, and any medical or clinical records you have. Beyond that, just bring yourself. Our team handles the rest — we'll walk you through everything step by step.
We work with 16 major insurance providers including Horizon, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Anthem, and more. Our admissions team verifies your coverage before your first visit so there are no surprises. Don't see your plan? Call us — we also work with out-of-network providers and frequently find coverage patients didn't know they had.
Absolutely. Many of our patients step down from inpatient or residential programs directly into Partial Care (PHP). Our clinical team coordinates with your previous provider to ensure a seamless transition with no gap in care. We also partner with supportive sober living housing if you need stable placement during treatment.
The biopsychosocial assessment is a one-on-one conversation with a licensed therapist or case manager that lasts about an hour. They'll ask about your history, mental health, substance use, relationships, and goals — not to judge, but to understand exactly what you need. This conversation directly shapes your individualized treatment plan.
Yes. The initial phone screening, insurance verification, and pre-assessment can all be completed over the phone or virtually. For patients being admitted to our Virtual IOP program, much of the process can be handled remotely. In-person intake is required for our Partial Care and in-person IOP programs.
Yes. Transportation can be accommodated for patients who need help getting to our facility. We're located at 830 Broadway in Norwood, NJ — just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge with easy access from the Palisades Parkway, Garden State Parkway, and NY Thruway. Speak with our admissions team about your specific needs.
Level of care is determined during intake based on your biopsychosocial assessment, symptom presentation, functional status, and insurance authorization. Our Clinical Director personally reviews each case. Options include Partial Care (PHP) for the most intensive support, IOP 5-Day or IOP 3-Day for evening treatment, and Virtual IOP for remote care. Advancement between levels is based on measurable progress, not a set timeline.
